PM Oli starts taking regular food

KATHMANDU, March 8: Four days after his second kidney transplant, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is now receiving treatment at the post-operative unit of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, has started taking regular food.

KATHMANDU, March 8: Four days after his second kidney transplant, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is now receiving treatment at the post-operative unit of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, has started taking regular food.


Doctors involved in his treatment said the prime minister’s condition is better than on Friday. They had started  making him move around the hospital bed  Friday.

In a briefing for media, Dr. Prem Krishna Khadka, the hospital’s executive director, said doctors have continued administering physiotherapy to Oli and his vital organs are sound. Lab indicators show that the prime minister is recovering as expected, he said . “He has started to eat normally and walk around,” according to a press release issued  Saturday morning.


The prime minister was given his kidney transplant on Wednesday.
