PM Oli takes oath of office and secrecy

KATHMANDU, July 15: Newly-appointed Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

KATHMANDU, July 15: Newly-appointed Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has taken the oath of office and secrecy.


President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to PM Oli at Sheetal Niwas on Monday.

On Sunday, President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Oli as the Prime Minister.


President Paudel appointed him as the prime minister according to Article 76 (2) of the Constitution.


Oli has become the new Prime Minister after forging an alliance with the NC and withdrawing support to the government led by Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.


On July 12, the chairman of the Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, was relieved from the post of Prime Minister after he failed to receive a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.
