KATHMANDU, March 28: Prime Minister KP Oli has said that there will be no blanket amnesty for cases of serious violation of human rights and humanitarian laws.
During a luncheon meeting with foreign diplomats at his official residence at Baluwatar on Tuesday, the prime minister made the remarks to allay the concerns of the international community that Nepal may leave those committing serious crimes during Maoist insurgency unpunished.

“To fully address the issue of transitional justice, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons are currently engaged in the country,” he said.
Prime Minister Oli said that his government is serious about ensuring that the transitional justice process is fair and free from pressure and influences -- both from within and outside the country. “As a member [of Human Rights Council], we will provide a strong voice to all those around the globe who look up to the Council to make positive differences in their lives,” the prime minister said.
