KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal encouraged Young Communist League, a sister-wing of his party CPN (Maoist Center), to retaliate against "rightist elements" and to begin the action from the upcoming election of the Free Student Unions at universities.

Addressing a mass gathering of YCL cadres at a party venue in Kathmandu on Tuesday, PM Dahal asked the YCL to move ahead by supporting the revolutionary [Maoist Center] students in the upcoming election of students.

"FSU elections will take place soon. Winning or losing is not important issue but shaping youth movement of the country and establishing revolutionary spirit within youth are important tasks," said PM Dahal.

"Rightist elements could raise their heads. So, you should make your presence in each campus and university and retaliate against them," he urged.

He vowed to provide all the support to the youth wings in that direction. "The rightist elements are growing but the bourgeoisie are yet to unite," said Dahal, who is also the chairman of the Maoist Center.

PM Dahal said that the rightist forces are growing across the world and similar situation is growing within the country.

"We have to guide the country toward election. The country is moving toward election but the upcoming election would not only be a mere election between parties. It would be a sort of class-struggle. It would be a struggle between the forces favoring and opposing the political change in the country," said Dahal.

YCL is the youth wing of the CPN (Maoist Center) and once, it was infamous for running barracks and clashing with other political forces.
