KATHMANDU, March 3: The third match under the ICC World Cup League-2 triangular ODI series is being played between Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Nepal. PNG has scored 110 runs at the loss of four wickets in 30 overs.
The first wicket of PNG, which chose to bat first, fell in the 10th over, the second wicket in the 18th over, the third in the 21st over and the fourth in the 23rd over.
Nepal scores 82 runs, loses four wickets in first 10 overs
Sandeep Lamichhane took the first wicket for Nepal while the second wicket was a run-out by Aarif Sheikh on the bowling of Kusal Malla. The third wicket was taken by Sompal Kami and the fourth wicket by Kusal Malla.
Nepal is in sixth place with 28 points with 13 losses and 15 wins in 30 matches. Papua New Guinea is at the bottom with 7 points from 30 matches with 3 wins and 26 losses. Nepal will have to win all the remaining 6 matches to qualify for the ODI World Cup by being placed in the top three. Being in the top five, Nepal needs four wins to get an ODI status directly.
