GANDAKI, April 3: The chambers of commerce and industry of Pokhara and Lalitpur have agreed to collaborate in the promotion of tourism and handicraft industries.
Following a discussion with the office-bearers of Lalitpur Chambers of Commerce and Industry, currently on a study tour of Pokhara, an agreement was reached to enhance commercial partnership through collaboration in tourism and handicraft enterprises.
Nepali, Indian entrepreneurs join hands to promote tourism
Pokhara has recently been declared the tourism capital of the country while Lalitpur, which produces 80 percent of handicrafts exported from Nepal, has been declared the capital of handicrafts by the World Handicrafts Association.
At the agreement signing ceremony on Tuesday, Acting President of Pokhara Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Gokarna Karki, shared about the campaign to set up Koseli Ghar or gifts shop to exhibit and sell indigenous Nepali products including handicrafts. He said that collaboration with Lalitpur will be utilized to further promote this campaign.
President of Lalitpur Chambers of Commerce and Industry Bishwalal Bajracharya expressed the belief that business will grow through the professional partnership between the two cities.
