Pokhara metropolis suspends all but essential services after an employee contracts COVID-19

POKHARA: Oct 15: Pokhara Metropolitan City has suspended all its services except for the most essential ones after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

POKHARA: Oct 15: Pokhara Metropolitan City has suspended all its services except for the most essential ones after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).


A personal driver of a high-ranking official was diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier on Thursday. Four other staff members at the metropolis office have also developed symptoms similar to that of COVID-19, according to the sources. The staff are scheduled to undergo lab tests on Friday.

Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Man Bahadur GC in a notice on Thursday announced that all services except for the most essential ones being provided by the metropolis have been suspended until further notice. However, the services rendered by the ward offices of the metropolis will continue as usual, according to the notice.


The metropolis has also called off all the meetings and other functions scheduled earlier to help make it easy to expedite contact tracing and contain further spread of the COVID-19.
