Police arrested students during their protest at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon. They were staging a demonstration against the government’s decision on imposing 10% customs duty on the import of books.


One of the students who wanted to be anonymous, present at the protest told MyCity that 10 students including Binod Deuba, Govinda Koirala, Manoj Puri, Rishi Rijal, Upendra Rajbanshi, Bimal Ghimire, Prativa Rai, Grisha Mainali, Aagya Shrestha and Sunil Basaula from different colleges in Kathmandu were arrested while protesting peacefully. According to the source, they are detained at Metropolitan Police Circle at Anamnagar.
