Police into Speaker’s Cup quarters

POKHARA, Jan 16: Departmental team Nepal Police Club has advanced into the quarterfinals of the ongoing second Speaker’s Cup National Volleyball Tournament with a 3-0 set win over Gandaki Province in Pokhara on Tuesday. The departmental team won 25-19, 25-20, 25-17.

POKHARA, Jan 16: Departmental team Nepal Police Club has advanced into the quarterfinals of the ongoing second Speaker’s Cup National Volleyball Tournament with a 3-0 set win over Gandaki Province in Pokhara on Tuesday. The departmental team won 25-19, 25-20, 25-17. 


Likewise, Province 3 has also entered the last eight, defeating the other departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club 3-1. Meanwhile, Army and Gandaki Province also got to the last eight by virtue of being runner-ups.

With a brilliant spiker performance from Pratibha Mali, Province 3 emerged victorious 25-10, 12-25, 25-14, 25-20 against Army and advanced into the quarterfinals. 


The other departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) Club defeated Province 1 comfortably 25-3, 25-8, 25-3, while Province 5 saw off Province 2 25-10, 25-14, 25-8. 


A total of 10 teams are taking part in the tournament including three departmental teams and seven provincial teams. The tournament is being played in league cum knockout format.
