KHOTANG, July 25:Eastern Regional Police Office (ERPO) on Tuesday awarded eight police officials who played vital role in maintaining peace and security in the recently held local level elections.
According to the EPRO, those officers did their best in order to conduct elections in a free and fair manner. ERPO awarded two Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), one Superintendent of Police (SP) and five Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) for making the elections of June 28 a success.

SSP Pushkar Raj Regmi of Eastern Regional Police Training Centre, Biratnagar and SSP Pitambar Adhikari of Mechi Zonal Police Office were the seniormost officials to be honored.
Likewise, SP Bhim Prasad Dhakal of Eastern Regional Armed Police Force Battalion, Biratnagar; DSP Nakul Pokharel of District Police Office, Panchthar; DSP Madhav Prasad Budhathoki of District Police Office, Solukhumbu; DSP Ram Bahadur KC of District Police Office, Taplegunj; DSP Milan KC of District Police Office, Okhaldunga and DSP Nabin Kishor Pradhan of District Police Office, Khotang , were the other officers to be awarded for their outstanding efforts in maintaining law and order during elections.
ERPO said that the police officers were awarded in accordance with the Nepal Police Act 2071.
DIG Ramesh Kumar Bhattarai awarded the officers upon the recommendation of SP Bidhya Nandha Majhi.
