KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Tension has flared in the southern parts of Rupandehi district as locals attacked the police post at Badbaliya village.
According to District Police Office Rupandehi, around two hundred people came to the police post and start throwing stones. The office claimed that police fired some rounds in the air and fired some shells of tear-gas to control the situation.
The office informed that four policemen and one local from Badbaliya sustained injuries during the clash while the crowed snatched and took away some weapons. The police have recovered some while the search for the weapon is still on.
Police on Saturday had clashed with cadres of CK Raut, who is in judicial custody for his separatist activities. On Saturday, Police had arrested 24 individuals from their protest program organized demanding Raut's release.
