KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Normal life of commuters in the valley was heavily affected due to VVIPS motorcade of dignitaries participating in the fourth Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) that started from Wednesday and have come to an end on Friday in Kathmandu.
To minimize the excessive traffic, the odd-even rule was imposed in the valley for three days starting Wednesday until Friday. This applied to two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and the vehicles belonging to the diplomatic missions in the capital.

The government declared a two-day public holiday for schools and colleges on August 30-31.
But, ultimately it was the commuters and other normal people who had to suffer a lot due to the weak management of the traffic system on the part of the government.
Alteration on the regular routes of vehicle, jam-packed public vehicles and less number of public vehicles along with the long hours of traffic jam on the roads made it harder for the commuters to reach their destination on time.
