Poor vehicle maintenance main cause behind road accidents: Transport Minister Yadav

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Arguing that poor maintenance of vehicles is a major cause behind the rising number of accidents, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Renu Kumari Yadav has warned of action against vehicles owners and auto dealers.

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Arguing that poor maintenance of vehicles is a major cause behind the rising number of accidents, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Renu Kumari Yadav has warned of action against vehicles owners and auto dealers.


Speaking at the first national convention of the Recondition auto Entrepreneurs Association on Saturday, Minister Yadav urged the recondition auto entrepreneurs to sell, distribute and operate only the vehicles which are well-maintained and serviced. She also urged them to pay attention to the condition of the car they are buying or selling.

Minister Yadav also opined that ordinary people could avail the facility if the reconditioned auto dealers could be taken to big cities outside the Kathmandu Valley. Stating that the government is ready to encourage entrepreneurs, she urged them to come for discussion with appropriate proposals.
