KATHMANDU, July 24: The postmortem of the 18 people who perished in the Saurya Airlines plane crash will begin today itself.
Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital sources confirmed that all technical staff involved in the autopsies have been notified.

The postmortem will start once the relatives of the deceased and representatives from Saurya Airlines are present. The hospital has also alerted the fingerprint and DNA teams. It is expected that the bodies will be released to the families three days after the autopsies are completed.
The crash occurred at 11:11 AM on Wednesday, when a Saurya Airlines flight, bound for Pokhara from the Tribhuvan International Airport, crashed and caught fire immediately after takeoff. The incident resulted in the deaths of 18 passengers, while the pilot, Manish Shakya, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at KMC Teaching Hospital in Sinamangal.
The aircraft, which was en route to Pokhara for repairs, had 19 occupants, including Saurya Airlines employees.
