KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Minister of State for Health and Population Surendra Kumar Yadav has said the government was preparing a new health policy to solve the problems relating to the health sector.
Inaugurating the first convention of the Health Employees’ Forum Nepal here Friday, Minister of State Yadav said it would be the first health policy to address multifarious problems of this sector. It would help ensure quality health service and well-managed hospitals, he added.
Doctors called for talks
Referring to the exodus of health students, the State Minister argued that the new policy would end this trend. “Discussion is underway with various stakeholders to this regard,” he said, admitting that the health sector is afflicted with numerous problems.
Central Chairman of Madhesi Health Workers’ Forum, Balkishor Prasad Yadav, viewed that the employees’ adjustment bill the government brought recently would not do justice to the health sector employees, so it must be corrected. “The employees in the health sectors must be provided equal incentives to the employees of the administration sector,” he demanded.
Dr Seema Singh, Asha Singh, Ramesh Rai, Ram Shuvak Mahato, Sanjay Thakur, Dr Rajesh Chaudhary and Surendra Prasad Yadav, including others were honored at the programme. RSS
