President Bhandari calls upon Nepali diaspora, industrialists to invest in Nepal

QATAR, Nov. 1: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called upon Nepali diaspora in Qatar to make investments in Nepal with confidence adding that time has come to build a prosperous Nepal through our devotion.

QATAR, Nov. 1: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called upon Nepali diaspora in Qatar to make investments in Nepal with confidence adding that time has come to build a prosperous Nepal through our devotion. 


Addressing a common forum of Nepalis residing in Qatar, President Bhandari urged all Nepalis to join hands together for the nation’s development and prosperity adding that the government has created investment friendly environment and developed laws for the same with the establishment of political stability in Nepal. 


Representatives from Qatar-Nepal Friendship Association, industrialists and others also were present at the programme organized by Embassy of Nepal, Qatar.

President Bhandari, who is in the State of Qatar in her four-day formal visit, shared that intensive discussions were held on the issues of bilateral interests and mutual cooperation with the Emir of Qatar during the bilateral talks. She said that issues of Nepali migrant workers were also raised at the meeting. 


On the occasion, she expressed the confidence that Nepal-Qatar ties would be further strengthened while investment from Qatar would be made in Nepal as well. 


Also addressing the same programme, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said Qatar is Nepal’s trustworthy friend and the labour relation has further strengthened the bilateral ties. 


Different agreements and understandings made during this visit would further deepen the relations, he said. 


Minister Gyawali also urged the Nepali industrialists and entrepreneurs in Qatar to invest in Nepal without any doubts and assured them to facilitate on behalf of the government in legal and all other issues. 


The Foreign Affairs Minister also argued that we should move ahead even by changing the format of Nepal-Qatar labour relations. Minister Gyawali argued that Nepal cannot become a developed nation by receiving remittances after exporting its human resources always, now the government is working to create jobs in the country itself by providing skills to the unskilled labourers.
