KATHMANDU, Nov 27: President Ram Chandra Paudel said the role played by social reformer and religious leader 'Guru Nanak' in making people aware about the caste and gender-based discrimination and against the superstation and ill-traditions would always be remembered.

KATHMANDU, Nov 27: President Ram Chandra Paudel said the role played by social reformer and religious leader 'Guru Nanak' in making people aware about the caste and gender-based discrimination and against the superstation and ill-traditions would always be remembered.


Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated by the Sikhs every full moon day during the Nepali month of Kartik in commemoration of birthday of Guru Nanak.

Giving a message on the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak today, President Paudel extended his best wishes to all Sikh brothers and sisters at home and abroad and wished them happiness, peace and prosperity.


President Paudel expressed his confidence that peace could be established in our society where mutual harmony, brotherhood, tolerance, social justice and national would thrive once the guidelines of social justices established by Guru Nanak were adhered.


The Guru Nanak Jayanti will inspire everyone to end all forms of anomalies and abbreviations prevailing in the society and maintain social justice, equality and fraternity.
