KATHMANDU, Oct 22: On the auspicious occasion of Maha Ashtami during the Dashain festival, President Ram Chandra Paudel, accompanied by his wife Sabita, embarked on a visit to Palanchowk Bhagwati in Panchkhal, Kavre.


It is a time-honored tradition for the head of state to seek blessings and offer worship to Nava Durga Bhagwati, with a visit to Palanchowk on Maha Ashtami.

Situated in Panchkhal Municipality-9, Buchkot, in the Kavrepalanchowk district, the Palanchowk Bhagwati temple is renowned as one of Nepal's oldest temples dedicated to Bhagwati. This sacred place dates back to around 1,655 years ago, with its origins tracing back to 425 AD. Palanchowk Bhagwati is also venerated as the elder sister of Bhagwati.
