President, PM extend best wishes on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar festival

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepalis on the occasion of the Tamu Lhosar festival.

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepalis on the occasion of the Tamu Lhosar festival.


In the message of best wishes extended today, President Bhandari expressed belief that the festival would foster mutual help and unity among people. She wished the Tamu Lhosar inspired all for building a cultured, civilized and prosperous nation.


President Bhandari also wished peace and good health to all Nepalis on this occasion.

Tamu Lhosar is the biggest festival of the Gurung community. "The festival like Lhosar in the country which has a multi-ethnic, multicultural, and multilingual society, will build further harmony, tolerance and brotherhood. It will foster national unity," she added in the message.


The festival is celebrated with fanfare in the places, especially Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahu, Manang, Kaski, and Parbat districts of Nepal.


Similarly, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the unity and harmony in diversity are exemplary cultural practices in Nepal.


In his message to the nation, Prime Minister Dahal believed that the festival would further strengthen harmony among all Nepalis. He wished peace, prosperity, good health and longevity to all Nepalis living in the country and abroad.
