KATHMANDU, April 19: President Bidya Devi Bhandari will pay a week-long State Visit to China from April 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday.
This is going to be the first visit of Bhandari to the northern neighbour since she began her second stint as the president in March, 2018.
The president will visit China at the invitation of her counterpart Xi Jinping. During the visit, Bhandari is scheduled to attend the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to be held in Beijing and address the Forum, according to the ministry.
She will also attend the banquet hosted by the Chinese counterpart. The President will also attend the Opening Ceremony of International Horticultural Exhibition and visit Nepali pavilion there.

President will hold delegation level bilateral talks Chinese President Xi, which will be followed by a signing ceremony, according to the ministry.
She will also meet with senior Chinese leaders. President will address the joint meeting of the business community from Nepal and China in Beijing.
President Bhandari will also attend the reception hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.
President Bhandari will visit Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province, before reaching Beijing.
Bhandari will fly to Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region of China, on her way back home. In both places, she will meet with the provincial leaders.
President Bhandari will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Chief Minister of Province No. 3 Hon. Dor Mani Paudel, Federal Parliament members, high-ranking government officials, Ambassador of Nepal to China, representatives of the private sector and media persons.
Concluding her trip, the presidential delegation will return home on May 2.
