President-elect Paudel to call his friends who were in jail with him to his oath-taking ceremony

KATHMANDU, March 13: Ramchandra Paudel, the recently elected president, has extended an invitation to those who were imprisoned alongside him throughout his life, to attend his oath-taking ceremony.

KATHMANDU, March 13: Ramchandra Paudel, the recently elected president, has extended an invitation to those who were imprisoned alongside him throughout his life, to attend his oath-taking ceremony.


He has invited the people who were with him when he was jailed under the panchayat system as guests for the oath-taking ceremony to be held at the Presidential residence Sheetal Niwas on Monday (today) at 1 pm.

Acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-elected president. Paudel was elected the president on March 9.


Indu Sharma, Gobinda Kandel, Raghupati Sharma have been invited to the ceremony, according to President Paudel's side.


"Indu Sharma, Gobind Kandel, Raghupati Sharma were the people who were in jail with President Paudel," said one of his aides, "We have invited them to the oath-taking ceremony.”


"Dilprasad Sapkota who used to deliver milk to the Baglung Jail Pauldel was kept in has also been invited.
