KATHMANDU, March 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and leader of Alliance for Independent Madhesh (AIM) CK Raut jointly addressed the program after Raut and the government inked an 11-point point deal in the capital, on Friday.
Addressing the event, Prime Minister Oli said that today is an important day in the history of Nepali politics.
"Today is the historic day in Nepali politics as it has marked the end of all kinds of violent activities in the country," Oli said while praising Raut for renouncing the secessionist movement.

Indicating various demands raised by CK Raut, the prime minister said "Nobody can challenge Nepal's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Everyone wants to see the integrated and unified country forever."
On the occasion, Oli also recalled that the Maoist party led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal joined the peace process by giving up violent armed conflict and came to this stage.
PM Oli called Raut as a bold leader. "Dahal joined the peaceful politics by renouncing the violence. I find similar characteristics in Raut ji," Oli said amid the presence of Dahal and other leaders.
During the program, Raut said that his campaign was not violent rather it was a form of peaceful politics.
"We are the descendants of the Lord Buddha. We were following the principle of non-violence. Our movement was not against any community or region. It was for the people of Madhesh," he claimed. Raut said that the deal was win-win for all sides dubbing it as a matter of victory.
Raut expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Oli for taking the initiative to bring him to the mainstream politics. "Thanks to Prime Minister Oli for treating us as a political force," he said.
