Private schools call off protest programs

KATHMANDU, July 6: Private school operators have cancelled their protest programs, saying that the government is positive about fulfilling their demands.


Issuing a joint press statement, Private and Boarding Schools Association of Nepal (PABSON) and National Private & Boarding Schools' Association (N-PABSON) said that private schools have decided not to halt online classes after discussions with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Earlier, the private school operators had decided to halt online classes, arguing that the government didn’t allow them to collect monthly fees during the lockdown. They have also demanded that they should be allowed to admit students for the new academic session, and exempted monthly rents, among others.  


Private schools have been conducting online classes after the government imposed a nationwide lockdown in the country to contain the spread of coronavirus..
