DHARAN, Aug 25: In response to security concerns and ongoing public health crisis, District Administration Office (DAO), Sunsari has decided to enforce a prohibitory order in Dharan from Friday midnight.

The DAO has issued an injunction not to hold any program in Dharan except in coordination with the security agencies for urgent work within the specified time. It is also mentioned that action will be taken in accordance with the Local Administration Act, 1971 (2028 BS) if the order is violated.
The DAO has also extended this prohibitory order at the entry points into Dharan sub-metropolitan city, including West Road of Barahkshetra Municipality-1, Barahkshetra Municipality-3, Nadaha Chowk to Dharan and Ramdhuni Municipality 6.
Similarly, prohibitory orders have also been enforced in Tarahara Panipiya in Itahari Ward No-20 towards Dharan, the area from Kerabari East which leads to Dharan Ward No-5 and the area from Bhedetar to Dharan in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6 of Dhankuta.
The DAO said that while it has been recommended to declare Dharan as a public health emergency area due to dengue infection, the injunction has been issued considering religious, communal, public health and security sensitivities.
