RAJBIRAJ, March 18: Goods and property worth around two million rupees were destroyed in separate incidents of fire in Saptari district on Saturday. 


A fire at the hardware store of local Dinanath Rauniyar at Phattepur of Saptakoshi Municipality-1 last evening gutted property worth Rs 1.5 million, the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur police said.

Similarly, fire that broke out at the house of Ram Prit Yadav at Lalpatti of Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality-4 destroyed goods and property worth Rs 200 thousand. The District Police Office, Saptari said the fire was caused by short circuit. 


Likewise, two houses were gutted by fire at Rupani Rural Municipality-3 last evening, destroying property worth Rs 250 thousand. The houses of Kamal Mukhiya and Chhedi Mukhiya were gutted by fire. 


Meanwhile, a fire that broke out at the Mahesh molasses mill at Krishnanagar Municipality-9 of Kapilbastu district in western Tarai destroyed raw materials and property worth Rs 300 thousand. The fire burnt 40 quintals of processed molasses, the warehouse and other goods at the mill, the Area Police Office Bahadurgunj has stated.(RSS)
