KHOTANG, Oct 28: Property worth over Rs 1.2 million was reduced to ashes after a house caught fire at Diktel Municipality- 9 in the district.
According to DSP Nabinkishor Pradhan of District Police Office, Khotang, the fire, which suddenly broke out in the hosue belonging to Subas Dhakal, has destroyed Rs 100,000 cash, one and a half tolas of gold, nine tolas of silver, grains, clothes, among others.

The cause behind the fire is not known yet. Even though no caualsities were reported, the fire has rendendered a lactating mother and her two-week-old baby homeless.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
