“Province 4 will be the most glorious among the seven provinces. It is already ahead in terms of natural resources, energy, tourism, culture and natural beauty,” said provincial assembly member Prithivi Subba Gurung of CPN-UML. He is also the party's central secretary.

According to him, the province aims at producing 3,000 to 5,000 MW of electricity within the coming decade. “About 15 percent of the people in the province are still living in darkness. We plan to provide them access to electricity by the next five years. Realizing this objective will really help to push the province forward on the path of economic prosperity,” said Gurung. He also shared plans to connect Korala border point of Mustang and Susta of Nawalparasi via roadways.

Meanwhile, another provincial assembly member Krishna Chandra Nepali, who was elected from the Nepali Congress, said there is a need for prioritizing the Kali Gandaki Corridor that connects India and China. “Likewise, there is also the need for building the Kathmandu-Pokhara-Lumbini road, airports, tunnel ways and other projects to make the province prosperous.”

Provincial assembly member Hari Bahadur Chuman representing the CPN (Maoist Center) said the assembly would help to manage and implement the rights of the local units.

“Province 4 is full of opportunities. It has the potential to become a leader in tourism, industries and human resources. We have to benefit from what we have,” said Chuman.
