KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Since last year, the Public Service Commission has added a course on ethics, public accountability and professionalism in public sector management. Candidates competing for the post of Joint Secretary and above in the Commission’s examination will have to sit for an exam in “Public Accountability, Ethics and Professionalism in Public Sector Management”.
“At present, candidates sitting for non technical examination will sit for the exam on aforementioned subject. The course will be added in the technical side as well,” Laxmi Bilas Koirala, spokesperson of the Commission said.

“Due to election, decision for the course has been delayed,” Koirala said.

The Commission is currently taking exam on the subject for all non technical first class gazette officers vying for positions at administration, foreign affairs, auditing services, parliament and legal services. The course aims to impart crucial knowledge on core values, professionalism, honesty, ethics to strengthen Nepal’s public services and safeguard democracy.
