Kanchanjangha and Lhotse off the list, she plans to embark on Makalu ascent in next few days
KATHMANDU, May 16: Photojournalist turned alpinist Purnima Shrestha has successfully scaled Mt Lhotse (8,516 meters) at 8AM today. Shrestha shared the news of her successful summit along with her expedition organizer, 8K Expeditions, through social media today.

Mt Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world. Prior to her Lhotse summit, Shrestha had also made it to the summit of Mt Kanchenjunga on May 5. Kanchanjunga is the third highest mountain in the world with an altitude of 8,586 meters.
Earlier in October last year, Shrestha scaled Mt Dhaulagiri — the world’s eighth highest peak. She became the first Nepali woman to successfully climb the mountain with an altitude of 8,167 meters.
Shrestha has already climbed world’s tallest peak Mt Everest, Mt Manaslu and Dhaulagiri and Mt Annapurna-I.
She plans to scale Mt Makalu next.
