KHOTANG, May 26: Nirmal Rai has been elected as the President of the Ashok Rai-led Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Khotang district chapter.
The JSP meeting held at the District Coordination Committee office in Diktel on Saturday gave the responsibility of president to Rai, who was the Vice President when Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal was in being.

The JSP has elected a 111-member district working committee under the leadership of Rai. Gururaj Rai and Nainkala Rai have been elected as vice presidents of the newly-formed District Working Committee, Birendra Darnal as Secretary, Tikaram Rai, Shantikala Rai, Pritiraj Rai as Joint Secretary and Gandhaman Rai as Treasurer.
The meeting elected Agniprasad Rai, Mugadhan Rai, Dilliraj Rai, Shanta Rai, Rajahari Rai, Nagendraraj Chamling, Devraj Rai, Khadga Bahadur Rai, Shivkrishna Rai, Kampser Rai and others as members.
Similarly, the members of the committee are Devraj Rai, Ramesh Rai, San Bahadur Rai, Council member Rakesh Rai and Samajbadi Students' Union Central General Secretary Prakash Chamling Rai were present in the district meeting.
