Superstar Rajinikanth, who will turn 66 on December 12, has requested his fans not to celebrate his birthday.
“Rajinikanth requests his fans not to celebrate his birthday,” his manager Riaz Ahmed tweeted on Friday.
He added that Rajinikanth asked his fans not to put up posters and banners.

It is believed that Rajinikanth has taken this decision as a mark of respect to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa who passed away earlier this week.
On the career front, the 65-year-old actor is busy shooting for Shankar’s magnum opus, “2.o”.
Superstar Rajinikanth reportedly turned down Aamir Khan’s request to dub for his character in Tamil for the dubbed version of upcoming wrestling drama Dangal, a source said.
“Aamir had screened the film for Rajinikanth sir and also requested him to dub for his character for the Tamil version of Dangal. Although moved by the film, Rajini sir politely turned down the offer,” a source close to Rajinikanth told IANS.
In a recent interview, on being asked in what ways Dangal is unique, Aamir Khan said, “What attracted me about Dangal were its moments of humour. It’s like a Rajkumar Hirani film. You are trying to say something but say it in the light-hearted matter. The humour is the surface level of that film. With Dangal, we have the same deadly combination of humour and dramatic moments.”
Aamir is working with four newcomers in Dangal. When asked if there has been a difference in their approach, he said, “All these girls come from city background. For them, they had to transform themselves in their first film. When I was doing Qyamat Se Qyamat Tak, I was in my comfort zone. I was doing all that was normal for my age. But these girls had to learn wrestling and had to adapt themselves into the characters from a small village in Haryana. They are as passionate as I was 25 years ago. The thirst is same. But in this film, they are ten steps ahead of me.”
