Raju Lama returns to Kathmandu after successful Everest summit

Raju Lama, the famous Nepali songwriter and singer of musical band Mongolian Heart was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport  today with the national flag and musical instruments. He had ascended the highest peak this year through Imagine Nepal Expedition to spread the message against climate change. Singer Lama, after his return to Kathmandu, said that he would now focus on a tree-planting campaign.

Raju Lama, the famous Nepali songwriter and singer of musical band Mongolian Heart was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport  today with the national flag and musical instruments.

He had ascended the highest peak this year through Imagine Nepal Expedition to spread the message against climate change. Singer Lama, after his return to Kathmandu, said that he would now focus on a tree-planting campaign.


Singer Lama, who shed tears of joy at the warm welcome, said, "I reached the top with the blessings of everyone. I cried , I couldn't hold back. I'm heartbroken. But, it's beautiful.”


He further added, "I am proud to be in such a beautiful country. He also said that he had climbed the mountain to convey the message that carbon emissions should be reduced.”


He also gave a musical performance at Camp 3 at an altitude of 6,574 meters, where he hummed the popular songs of Mongolian Heart and a few new songs.
