BIRGUNJ, Nov 9: Parsa police has filed a case against the son of newly elected ward chairman and two others involved in rape of 16 year girl of Sakhuwa Parsauni rural municipality. Following the incident of Oct 29, those involved in rape had tried to silence the girl’s family through compensation.

While retaliating the gang rape, the girl was beaten and sustained a fracture on her left hand. “At around 11 am that day, I was cutting grass. Mukhtar Ansari and his father came on a motorcycle. They forced me to sit on the bike while threatening me for my life if I screamed,” the girl said.
The police have suspected that those accused have fled to India. “They have fled to India. We are investigating the case. We’ve conducted physical checkup of the girl and brought the report,” a source at Parsa Police Office said. Protests have been ongoing at Birgunj against the incident.
