Rashila Tamang wins Asia Trail Master, 2023

KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Rashila Tamang, an ultra-runner from Nepal, secured the Asia Trail Master (ATM) 2023 title in Indonesia.

KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Rashila Tamang, an ultra-runner from Nepal, secured the Asia Trail Master (ATM) 2023 title in Indonesia. 


In the race held on Saturday, she completed the designated distance of 77 km in 12 hours, 25 minutes, and 52 seconds, making her the first Nepali runner to achieve victory in this competition.

Vanja Kanops from Belgium finished the prescribed distance in 12 hours, 32 minutes, and 16 seconds, securing the second position, while Angeli Caballo of the Philippines claimed the third spot by completing the distance in 14 hours, 3 minutes, and 37 seconds.


Tamang has been actively participating in international ultra-races, consistently achieving podium finishes. Just last month, she secured the second position in The North Face Malaysia Mountain Trail Festival 2023 held in Malaysia.


Her impressive track record includes regular participation and top-three placements in various international ultra-races. Notable achievements include securing the first position in the Geoji Mountain Crossing Competition in China, University Championship in Nepal, Godavari Running Festival, Himalayan Outdoors, 42 km Everest Marathon, and UTMR in Switzerland.
