Ready Traders smuggled 302 kg of gold into Nepal: CIB

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has completed its investigation into the gold smuggling case involving Ready Traders, the company responsible for bringing in the smuggled gold, revealing that a total of 302 kilograms of gold was illegally imported.

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has completed its investigation into the gold smuggling case involving Ready Traders, the company responsible for bringing in the smuggled gold, revealing that a total of 302 kilograms of gold was illegally imported.


Today, the CIB is set to submit its comprehensive investigation report on the nearly 61 kilograms of gold smuggled from Hong Kong to the district attorney's office. In this report, the CIB has concluded that Ready Traders was responsible for smuggling a staggering 302 kilograms of gold, concealed within brake shoes.

In light of these findings, the CIB has named 50 individuals as defendants in the 61-kilogram gold smuggling case. Furthermore, the CIB has concluded that a fine of Rs  3.5 billion should be collected from the accused.
