Real estate sector contributes 8.33 percent to Nepal's GDP

KATHMANDU, May 26: The real estate sector's contribution to Nepal's GDP is projected to be 8.33 percent for the current fiscal year 2023/24, according to the latest Economic Survey published by the Ministry of Finance.

KATHMANDU, May 26: The real estate sector's contribution to Nepal's GDP is projected to be 8.33 percent for the current fiscal year 2023/24, according to the latest Economic Survey published by the Ministry of Finance.


During the fast fiscal year, FY 2022/23, the sector contributed 8.24 percent to the GDP. Over the past decade, the average contribution of the real estate sector to the GDP has been 8.79 percent, with an annual growth rate of 2.3 percent.

Despite a decrease in real estate business activities, housing and rental activities have increased, leading to an estimated growth rate of 2.98 percent for the sector.
