Registration of nominations for by-elections on Monday

KATHMANDU, April 2: Nomination papers of candidates are being registered on Monday for the by-election of members of the House of Representatives to be held on April 23.

KATHMANDU, April 2: Nomination papers of candidates are being registered on Monday for the by-election of members of the House of Representatives to be held on April 23.


According to the Election Commission, the candidates on behalf of their respective political parties and independent candidates will register their nominations to participate in the elections at the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer concerned.

By-elections are being held in three constituencies in Chitwan, Bara and Tanau. The constituency number 2 of Chitwan fell vacant after Rabi Lamichhane, who was elected from Chitwan- 2 in the election held on November 20, was relieved of his post by the Supreme Court's decision in the case of citizenship.


Similarly, Ramchandra Paudel from Tanahun Constituency No. 1 was elected as President, and Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav from Bara-2 was elected as the Vice President. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has already been established for the by-election on Saturday in all these three constituencies.
