KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Nominations are being registered today for the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Bagmati Provincial Assembly.
The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has said that the nomination registration time is scheduled from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM today. According to the secretariat, for the election, the time for withdrawing nominations is from 2:30PM to 3:30PM and the final list of candidates will be announced at 4PM.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) General Secretary Bhuban Pathak is going to be the candidate for the Speaker of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly from the ruling alliance. On Wednesday, RPP decided to make him a candidate for the Speaker.
When the main posts were shared among the ruling parties, it was agreed that the Speaker of Bagmati would be taken by RPP. Similarly, the Deputy Speaker of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly has not been decided.
In the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, there are 110 provincial assembly members including 37 from Nepali Congress, 27 from CPN-UML, 21 from CPN (Maoist Center), 13 from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, seven from CPN (Unified Socialist), three from Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and two from Hamro Nepali Party.
