Report of high-level national education commission made public

KATHMANDU, June 8: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has made public the report of the high-level national education commission, 2018. The MoEST made it public on its website on Friday.

KATHMANDU, June 8: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has made public the report of the high-level national education commission, 2018. The MoEST made it public on its website on Friday. 


Releasing the report, Education Minister, Sumana Shrestha, viewed the positive and relevant issues in the document would be implemented, and revisions made accordingly.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had handed over the report to Minister Shrestha on May 14.


A 24-member commission was formed under chairmanship of then Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokhrel during the KP Sharma Oli-led government. Decision for the formation of the commission was made on July 26, 2018.


The commission had submitted the report to then Prime Minister Oli on January 15, 2019.


The members of the commission had been expressing severe concern over not making the commission’s report public for long.
