Residents demand stringent laws against contractors

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Residents of Kalopul and Sifal Chaur urged Nepali Congress’s candidate Gagan Thapa to bring tougher laws against underperforming contractors during Thapa's door-to-door campaign today. Residents expressed the pain that they’ve been facing, especially with delayed road construction in the area and complained of lack of accountability of contractors. Current government provision does not incorporate scrapping contractors in cases of poor performances. As a result, development works get delayed.
