Deepak Dawadi, Ward Chairman of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-23, said that the dead rhinoceros with injuries was found on the banks of Rapti River near Hotel Jungle Villa.

Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, information officer of Chitwan National Park, said that the rhino may have died after encountering another rhino.

The male rhinoceros is over 30 years old. “Looking at the injuries on the body, we have assumed that he died after fighting with another rhino," Tiwari said.
