KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Hindu women from various regions of Nepal are observing the Rishi Panchami festival today with ritual prayers at the Risheshwor Mahadev Temple in Teku, Kathmandu.
Hindu women reaching their menstruation periods observe this festival by fasting and paying homage to the Saptarishis (seven powerful sages as per the Hindu mythology) with a belief that they will be blessed and forgiven for all sins they believed to have committed during the menstrual cycle.
