Rivers likely to swell, safety measures advised

KATHMANDU, June 30: Risks of rivers exceeding safety limits are high in the next two days, according to a flash flood alert published by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

KATHMANDU, June 30: Risks of rivers exceeding safety limits are high in the next two days, according to a flash flood alert published by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.


According to the notice, Kamala, Khado, Gaagan, Ratu, Bagmati, East and west Rapti, Riu khola, Banganga, Babai, Mohana, Macheli along with other rivers and rivulets in the Chure andMahabharat range are likely to swell.

According to the alert, settlements closer to the river banks are at higher risks and therefore, suggested to move to safer areas.
