NUWAKOT, April 8 : Locals of Okharpauwa have blocked the Jitpur-Okharpauwa road in protest against the death of a local woman in a road accident.
They have been demanding action against the mini-truck driver that hit the women to death and compensation to the affected family.

As a result, vehicles carrying solid waste to the dumping site in Okharpauwa have been stranded on the road.
Local resident Sita Balami,30, died on the spot after being hit by the mini-truck with registration number Ba.5Kha.2523 at a resident of Kakani rural municipality-1 last night. Taking over the incident, the locals have blocked the road since early morning today. As a result, some 100 trucks loaded with solid waste from Kathmandu have been stopped at Jitpur, according to District police chief Basant Kunwar.
Efforts are being made to resolve the issue and open the road for traffic, as a team led by the DSP at the District Police Office and another team from Kathmandu have been mobilized for the same.(RSS)
