RPP to quit government, calls work performance committee meeting on Monday

KATHMANDU, April 30: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is preparing to quit the incumbent government.

KATHMANDU, April 30: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to quit the incumbent government.


According to the source, the RPP has called the Work Performance Committee meeting on Monday to decide on the subject. The party is preparing to leave the government after the registration of the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Sushila Karki, citing it as the interference in the independence of the judiciary, informed the source.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development and party chairperson Kamal Thapa had expressed his dissatisfaction over the impeachment motion. "It is unfortunate and serious attack on the independence of the judiciary," Thapa had posted on his official twitter page.
