KANCHANPUR, Oct 21: The Shuklaphanta National Park will provide relief to the families of 55-year-old Dhwaj Bahadur Karki and 45-year-old Mathura Karki of Shuklaphanta Municipality-12 Dilashani Tol who lost their lives in elephant attacks. The families of the deceased will be provided a relief amount of Rs 1 million each.

Dil Bahadur Purja Magar, Chief Conservation Officer of the park, said, “We will provide the relief as soon as possible after all paperwork is completed.” He said that the payment will be made online as soon as the paperwork is completed.
"We are providing Rs 50,000 to the family of the deceased for last ritual expenses within one or two days," he said. The Karki couple was killed in the yard of their house by an elephant on Wednesday morning. The Shuklaphanta Municipality has also decided to provide last ritual expenses of Rs 25,000 each to the heirs of the families of the deceased. Mayor Dil Bahadur Ayer said that the amount will be provided after holding a meeting of the Disaster Management Committee.
