KATHMANDU, July 21: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has defended Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar against allegations of seeking visa appointments from the US Embassy.
Releasing a statement, RSP claimed Rana's letter, sent 17 months ago, had sparked controversy unjustly.

According to the party, an internal RSP probe found no evidence of wrongdoing or financial transactions related to the letter.
The party asserted that requesting visa appointments is a common practice among political leaders and supports a fair investigation if needed. The party also accused the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML of conspiring to damage its image.
