RSP participates in presidential election

KATHMANDU, March 9: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has participated in the presidential election. A meeting of the party officials and the parliamentary party held at the RSP office on Thursday decided to participate in the voting.

KATHMANDU, March 9: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has participated in the presidential election. A meeting of the party officials and the parliamentary party held at the RSP office on Thursday decided to participate in the voting. 


But RSP has not made public its official opinion about who it voted in the election. According to sources, the RSP has decided to vote for Nepali Congress candidate Ram Chandra Paudel.

“The parliamentarians of our party will together vote in the presidential election,” said Yuvraj Baniya, a leader of the RSP. “But due to the code of conduct, we cannot reveal who we voted for. You will get the results after 7PM,” Baniya added.


RSP has 19 MPs in the House of Representatives. The parliamentarians of RSP went to the  Parliament Building in New Baneshwar directly from the party office for voting.
