Ruling NCP’s Secretariat meet taking place at Parisdanda for first time after two communist parties’ merger

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: A Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is currently underway at Parisdanda in the capital.

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: A Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is currently underway at Parisdanda in the capital.


The Secretariat meeting which used to be mostly held either at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar or the NCP headquarters in Dhumbarahi, is taking place for the first time at the same building which once served as the headquarters of the then CPN (Maoist Centre) before its merger with the then CPN (UML) in 2018. 


Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli who is also a chairperson of the ruling party also attended the meeting. Executive chairperson of the party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Secretariat members are attending the meeting.

According to sources, today’s Secretariat meeting is dwelling on a Cabinet reshuffle.


Last week, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, the foreign minister who is also the spokesperson for the government, had said that a Cabinet reshuffle would take place within a week.


The nine-member Secretariat of the NCP is also discussing the government’s performance as well.
