Safety training for travel guides

KATHMANDU, August 21:  Korea Tours and Trekking Operator Association Nepal (KTTOAN) organized a one-day-long training for tour and trekking guides and assistant guides, in association with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, August 21:  Korea Tours and Trekking Operator Association Nepal (KTTOAN) organized a one-day-long training for tour and trekking guides and assistant guides, in association with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in Kathmandu on Tuesday.


The participants were trained on Korean etiquette, high altitude sickness, first-aid, and rescue. The training was organized with the support from Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

During the session, Korean envoy Park Young-sik said that the number of Korean tourists visiting Nepal might exceed 37,000 in 2019. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of NTB, said that the training would help ensure the safety of tourists.


“Tourism promotion activities including B2B sessions and travel fare should be organized in South Korea in effective manner as the Korean market has been growing over the years,” said Amar Bahadur Shahi, president of KTTOAN.
